Lynn Thompson Sales and Lettings celebrated 20 years in business with major local sponsorship deal
We celebrated 20 successful years in business, in 2025.
Lynn Thompson Sales and Lettings is marked its anniversary by sponsoring all 21 teams at Southport Rugby Club – a significant gesture to celebrate a milestone moment in the company’s history, and also its continued commitment to the local community.
Founded by Lynn Thompson in 2005, the company was Southport’s first female-owned estate agency, a trailblazer at a time when the property industry was heavily male-dominated. Lynn’s vision, determination, and community focus have helped the business become a respected name in the North West property market.
Originally offering both lettings and sales, the company streamlined its focus in 2012 to concentrate exclusively on lettings. However, in response to increasing demand, they have now reintroduced estate agency services taking the business back to its roots.
“We’ve always been driven by what our clients need,” said founder and director Lynn Thompson. “When our landlords kept asking us to help with sales, it made perfect sense to bring that service back. After 20 years, we’ve come full circle and we’re stronger than ever.”
Originally operating from Post Office Avenue and recently making the move to Hoghton Street, the business now covers the entire North West region, managing everything from residential lettings and block management to short-term lets including Airbnb and golf rentals. With a close-knit team of four staff and three directors, Lynn Thompson Sales and Lettings has stayed true to its values of personal service, trust, and adaptability in a fast-changing market.
The last two decades have seen transformative shifts in how property is marketed and sold, from photo boards in windows to fully digital sales processes that can take place without ever meeting a client in person.
“It's incredible to see how far we’ve come,” said Lynn. “We’ve gone from printed photographs pinned in our office window to handling property sales entirely online. The internet has transformed everything. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the sale board – that’s the one constant! Re-introducing sales felt like a natural next step for us, especially as so many of our landlords were asking for our support.”
Sponsoring the teams at Southport Rugby Club reflects Lynn’s strong ties to the community and supporting grassroots sport. “We’re proud to be part of this town and proud to support the rugby club at every level – from juniors to seniors,” she added. “It feels like the perfect way to mark our 20th year in business.”
As the company looks ahead to the future, with an office move on the horizon, its focus remains on delivering professional, flexible, and community-focused property services with the same drive that started it all two decades ago.
